Fees Policy Summary

Why fees are necessary?

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development provides per capita funding as a contribution towards the cost of providing the preschool program for four year olds.  The service is responsible for all costs.  Fees are necessary because there is a shortfall between the level of government funding and the costs of operating a viable preschool.

There is no funding for other programs, such as three year old program.

Parents need to be aware that preschools are not a free service and rely on prompt payment of fees to meet the operational costs.  All parents/guardians must pay fees and the Committee has the discretion to withdraw service for non-payment of fees.

Fee Subsidy for low Income Families

A parent/guardian or child who holds a current concession card (eg health care card, pension card) may eligible for a reduction in their term fees for the four year old program only.

A copy of the Concession Card must be provided prior to the start of the year, and on renewal once a care expires. Term fee invoices will be issued if your circumstances change and you do not provide a new copy.

Letters of Offer

Letters offering families a place at the Preschool are posted from late July, the year prior to attending. Once a letter of offer is received, a non-refundable deposit of $70.00 is required to confirm acceptance of the offer. This deposit is deducted from the term one fees. The child’s place is then secured once the balance of the term one fees is paid at the Annual General Meeting in November, the year prior to attending.
